A Long While Since I Posted Anything

...I haven't updated on our new studio in awhile so here it goes :)

We have all of the old flooring torn out and are re-dry walling almost the entire place. Some of the HIDEOUS wall paper is still in the kitchen but not much - gonna wait till it is nicer out to mess with the rest of it. Thankfully I have family that is helping me out :)

I am still at a loss for the decor that I want to do.

Finally Hanging Drywall!!

95% of the electrical work is COMPLETED! Thank goodness. We started hanging drywall. I still have to get the wallpaper off of the kitchen and the one wall in the soon to be shooting room but it is almost done. My husband informed me that when we were ripping the paper off the wall we managed to wallpaper the floor by accident. I get the stuff that dissolves the glue really only works temporarily - oops :) He was a major sweetheart and cleaned it all up while I was taking pictures the other night. I am sure I will be hearing it tho if I re-wallpaper anything else by accident :)

I can't wait to start picking out colors and décor for the new place! I am a little overwhelmed with it all tho. I don't know how I want to go with things. I know I want it to be relaxing and inviting but I also want it to look great. I have nothing to go on...no furniture or colors. All of the floors will be hard wood and the kitchen linoleum is totally neutral. It is a complete blank canvas and I am a little nervous :) I usually LOVE decorating but now I am intimidated by it for once. I do know that one wall will be my green wall :) I guess I can start there and work my way out :)

My next goal too is to figure out how to mount my strobe lighting from the ceiling. I don't really want to spend 1000's of dollars on a rail unit. Looks like it is time to start seeing what the hardware isles of Lowe's and Menards has in store for me :) I am sure I can come up with something.

Oh well... enough for now - more later :)

Just A Little Update

Dane finished clearing the land today - we now have four massive piles of trash and junk that we will need to haul out...it will be gone when he has a bit of time and his dump truck and track hoe are here.

We are hoping to have the electrical completely done tomorrow sometime. It is going pretty slow but we are basically re-wiring the ENTIRE place. Someone really caused themselves more work than it was worth tearing out the wiring that way - probably put 3 hours of destruction in for $10 worth of scrap metal...if that!

Soon the drywall will be up and being finished and THEN :) it will be time for me to start deciding on paint and décor! (This will be my all-time favorite part!!!!!) I really am not even sure where to go with it...I want the studio to be relaxing and fun but I also want it to look amazing...not sure how I will combine the two but I know I will get it eventually!

More Wallpaper Demise Going On!

The more I scrape this wallpaper the more I am dumbfounded about it! I could see putting up pretty wallpaper but this is so not that pretty at all! Oh well...here are a few shots from this morning :)

Wow - just spent two hours chiseling away a bunch of nasty wallpaper off of the walls. I don't even think I really made a dent! I am almost thankful it was getting dark so I had an excuse to quit :) Guess I won't be able to use that excuse once we turn the electric on tho. Back to more wallpaper annihilation tomorrow ;) Can we just say that someone's taste in wallpaper was REALLY BAD!!
